On Sunday, November 19, 2017 our membership committee along with our own Volunteer Fire/EMS Recruiter will be holding a new member orientation for interested applicants to learn information on becoming a volunteer firefighter and/or emergency medical technician with the Riverdale Heights Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Co. 13 in Prince George's County, Maryland.
The RHVFD is one of nine 100% all volunteer fire departments in Prince George's, saving millions of dollars to the taxpayers living in and around the greater Riverdale area. We provide a two piece engine company and a basic life support (BLS) transport ambulance to serve Riverdale, Lanham, New Carrollton, Landover, College Park and the Greenbelt areas on the north central part of the county.
Minimum requirements include; must be sixteen (16) years of age or older, must pass an extensive background check, successfully complete a thorough NFPA physical and successfully pass the Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department Volunteer Recruit School.
Interested applicants will learn the history of the RHVFD, learn about the county application process (background check, county physical, volunteer recruit school), learn information on becoming a firefighter and emergency medical technician, staffing and training incentives, duty scheduling and much more.
For more information or to RSVP for the orientation to be held tomorrow, please contact our Volunteer Recruiter, Brian Clements at (240) 682-3192 or e-mail at email@example.com. Orientation will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at our fire station located at 6101 Roanoke Avenue, Riverdale, Maryland 20737.
