The Riverdale Heights Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Inc. is currently seeking interested individuals who would like to join our ranks as volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMTs) or administrative personnel.

The department operates a two-piece engine company (E813/E813B) and a basic life support ambulance (A813) with 100% volunteer staffing. Our department is located at 6101 Roanoke Avenue in Riverdale, Maryland.

Minimum requirements to join include but not limited to; applicants must be sixteen (16) years of age or older, pass an extensive background check and must successfully complete a comprehensive medical evaluation and physical. Administrative prospects will not take the medical evaluation/physical, but will need to pass a background check.

Experienced prospects with Maryland and/or Pro-Board Firefighter training and Maryland and/or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician qualifications are urged to apply.

Administrative prospects have an opportunity to assist the department with building maintenance, fire prevention activities, fundraising and recruitment.
