January 26, 2019
At approximately 1838 hours on today’s date, units were dispatched to the 5600 block of Columbia Park Road in the 38-03 (Chapel Oaks) box for the reported building on fire.
First arriving units arrived to find a large commercial warehouse/recycling plant with smoke and fire evident, requesting the working fire dispatch.
Soon after, the second alarm was sounded bringing Engine 133 (E813B) to the scene as first due on the second. Engine 133 arrived and set up operations on the Charlie/Delta side and supplied units on the fireground for hours into the night.
Due to the contents of the structure, crews needed to evacuate early into the incident and remained exterior using multiple hand lines as well as aerial master streams.
